Do I only have a cold or is it Corona? This question is currently occupying many people. A study shows which symptom can give an indication of corona.
Right now the uncertainty is enormous. With a slight scratching of the neck, a runny nose and a feeling of tiredness or lack of energy, many people wonder whether it is just a cold or a corona. The symptoms can provide information. Even if both diseases show similar symptoms, the symptoms experienced by subjects already infected with Covid-19 were recorded in a study conducted by University College in London.

Corona patients had these symptoms
Sore throat (69.6 percent)
fever (72.4 percent)
Cough (72.7 percent)
Abdominal pain (74.6 percent)
Weld outbreaks (76.2 percent)
Muscle pain (83.5 percent)
Headaches (84 percent)
Breathing difficulties (85.3 percent)
Chest pain (87.1 percent)

However, the symptoms alone do not allow us to determine with certainty what kind of infection it is. However, the more symptoms that occur simultaneously, the greater the probability of a Covid-19 infection. Nevertheless, there is one additional symptom that 80.4 percent of the test persons had and which is rather unusual for a flu-like infection: the loss of the sense of smell and taste.

According to Rachel Batterham, the lead investigator, the results show that the loss of sense of smell and taste is a very reliable indicator that someone probably has Covid-19. In the study, 567 of 590 patients suffering from loss of sense of smell and taste tested positive for corona viruses.

However, this is still true: In case of doubt, a corona test is the safe option.
